But As For Me!

I just finished the “As For Me” bible study by Adrienne Camp and it was amazing. Through the study we looked at the book of Psalms and I discovered many new insights, including finding all the “as for me” references. This phrase makes you think about what you will stand on, what you will stand for and what your greatest desire is.

This is the response and declaration prayer I have as a result of weeks in the study of Psalms:

Father God, I praise You!
I praise Your powerful name,
I praise, because of Jesus, I am not the same!

Almighty God, I praise You!
I praise the mighty work of Your hand,
I praise You know I am merely human,
And, in spite of that, in Your presence I can stand!

Faithful God, I praise You!
I praise that You are always with me,
I praise the potential and purpose of my life you see.
I praise You, that I don’t have to navigate life alone,
I praise You, that, for my sin, You atone!

Everlasting God, I praise You!
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, too!

Declaration Prayer based on the different genres of Psalms studied (thanksgiving, lament, trust, wisdom, imprecatory, praise, royal and prophetic):

Dear Heavenly Father,
But as for me, I will always offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving, having a grateful heart, not taking anything for granted!
But as for me, I will lament when I cease from doing this, from remembering your greatness, your love and forgiveness, too!
But as for me, I will strive to always depend on you, trusting you to keep me close by your side, to remind me to walk the path you set before me and that you will take care of those who come against me because you are the King of kings and Lord of lords, my Messiah!
But as for me, I will look to you for wisdom to live the life you have prepared and purposed me for.
But as for me, I will praise you, Almighty God, with everything that is within me, with all the breath I have until I breathe my last and then continue that praise throughout all eternity with you!
In Jesus’ mighty, matchless, all-powerful name, Amen!

The cool thing about this is that my life verse that I discovered years ago is an “as for me” verse. Psalm 17:15, “As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness, I will be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.”

What about you? What is your “but as for me” declaration?
